Transfer RNA (tRNA) is the molecule responsible for carrying amino acids during protein synthesis. It contains anticodons, which are complementary to the codons on mRNA. The anticodon loop of tRNA binds to the mRNA codon, allowing the correct amino acid to be incorporated into the growing protein chain.
